Four years have passed since the sexual assault against Ms. Ito.
She has been fighting almost entirely by herself and covering court-related expenses.
Ms. Ito is fighting a trial to determine the damage and seek compensation. The defendant's attorney is requesting an apology advertisement as well as issuing a counterclaim for 130 million yen. In order to speak up with the victims, we thought this trial was paramount. We decided to pay close attention to the trial and provide substantial support. We would like to multiply the voice of those who want to support her.
Although there have been multiple supports offered to her, Ms. Ito did not want to take it as the sole beneficiary while there are many other victims of similar assaults. The “Open the Black Box” has been working with Ms. Ito to find ways to support the victims who speak out to be not subjected to criticism, loneliness, and silence.
